STAINING CONCRETE is also a beautiful and economic decorative concrete solution. It's an increasing popular design choice for commercial and residential projects because of it's cleanability, low-maintanence and durability. There are dozens of colors to choose from. You can also customize your stained concrete to fit a theme or design concept unique to your business or home (as pictured below) .

It's NOT a paint or coating -- acid stained concrete is essentially a chemical coloring process involving a chemical reaction with concrete. Acid stains combine water, acid and inorganic salts that react with minerals in the concrete and the result of this reaction is color. Typically, the stain penetrates the concrete at about 1/16th to 1/32nd of an inch. It works over both new or old concrete, and it's very durable product if properly protected with a sealer or wax.

Acid Stain gives concrete a mottled, variegated, marble like look. It creates beautiful colors on concrete, mostly earth tone browns, reddish browns and greens. You can customize the stain to an extent by mixing and matching available colors, or applying them at different ratios. You should never expect a uniform or even color and you should keep in mind that this is a chemical process and the stain will react differently to slabs poured at different times.

Acid Stain is typically applied to walkways, entrances, driveways, living rooms, bathrooms, patios, and all sorts of of commercial high traffic areas.

One important note: Not every concrete surface can be acid stained. Age isn't an issue, but the condition of the concrete itself is. If the concrete is spalled, has previously been acid etched, or if it's been previously been sealed, the stain will not "take" properly.
